Unlike other providers, we typically do not display advertisements when we perform. This means no tacky company banners or posters to clash with your decor. We pride ourselves on safe and clean equipment setups appropriate for the venue. That being said, outside of numerous weddings and private events, some of our past performances have included fundraisers (for clients such as The American Cancer Society and ASPIES of Greater Akron), large public events (such as the Cleveland Zoo Rock'n'Relay, Portage Lakes 5k and Countryside Farm Octoberfest), college events (for schools such as NEOUMED, Youngstown State University and The University of Akron) and bars/restaurants (including the Ohio Brewing Company, Melillo's Tavern, Buffalo Wild Wings and TGI Fridays).
A lot has happened since our beginnings - both in the industry and with the company.
The origin of By Request dates back to around 2002 when the owner, Ryan von Ahn ran the show in place of a no-show Dj who dropped off equipment but failed to provide an entertainer at a school event. Ryan, having just as much fun working as the students in attendance at the event went on to perform at youth groups and eventually weddings at a small banquet hall armed with nothing more than a couple books of cds, a microphone and modest PA system. Over the next decade, the events, music library and equipment inventory would all increase in size. Ryan also spent time subcontracting for three other companies (one of which has won awards) in the area where he was trained on a variety of processes and techniques used by some of the areas' industry veterans.
The past few years brought significant change as By Request expanded service offerings and began recruiting and training a few quality performers to help run the show. Uplighting and photobooth packages were created and projectors and Tvs were added to the equipment lineup along with a large library of music videos. Currently, By Request boasts a growing staff who are passionate about partnering with you to make your event a success - and an equipment fleet capable of turning your vision into reality.
Over the years CDs were replaced with computers, paper forms became electronic, photobooths became a wedding staple, certain line dances lost popularity and different pieces of equipment would come and go - but one thing stayed the same - our clients' desire for a fun, professional and classy event.
Where are we going?
Historically, we have primarily been a Dj company. Moving forward, we are committed to providing total entertainment solutions for events and using our experience to educate our clients on different ways they can maximize a guest’s good time and create awe moments. This year, we are pleased to announce the 'Unbelievable' package - a boutique package custom quoted and designed just for your event where we walk your venue with you and collaborate on the best possible presentation, and different ways to enhance your theme.
